This is a stunning example of a hand built boutique bass from one of the icons of guitar building! It "delivers melodic, punchy tones right down to a thunderous low B. All in a bass weighing in at less than 5.5 pounds!"
Many consider Rick Turner the father of boutique guitar building because of the Model 1 guitar he built for Fleetwood Mac's Lindsey Buckingham in the mid '70s. He's also known for his time at Alembic Inc., the brief period he spent at Gibson (before he "ran afoul of corporate politics"), and the three boutique guitar companies he runs today--Renaissance Guitars, Compass Rose Guitars, and Rick Turner Guitars
The Renaissance series delivers a much broader frequency range than traditional basses. This is a Deluxe + (with quilted maple top) 35" scale fretless five-string strung with Thomastik-Infeld Acousticore strings.
This instrument would run more than $3500 to buy new. I have way too many other instruments, and it sits around unplayed. It needs a good home - please adopt it!
Low-ball offers will be cheerfully refused/ignored. (If I would sell it for 60% of the asking prices. that's the price I would have it listed for. :) )
I could be interested in trades, but it would need to be something that I could easily sell if I get tired of it. (In other words, something that is a recognizable and desirable brand name and worth at least as much as my guitar) Partial trades + cash would work too. I don't really need amps or effects.
Specific things I am looking for
Ibanez Montage Electric/Acoustic Guitar
Line 6 Helix Stomp
Gretsch 5120/5420 in candy red or blue
B-3 clone Organ (kbd or module) with drawbars
Gibson Les Paul
Gibson Les SG
Since it sounds so acoustic, I added a set of f-hole decals. They are easily removable if they don't suit you.
