Offered up is an autographed Lithograph of Joe Louis vs Max Schmeling. It is signed by both fighters.
The piece was signed in the 1970’s. The Lithograph depicts an image from their famous second fight which took place at Yankee Stadium. There was an edition size numbered to 1500. This particular Lithograph is unnumbered and I believe it a test run prior to the numbered edition, and presented to those who took place in its conception. Believe this would be extremely scarce compared to even the limited numbered run. Both signatures are very bold and crisp. Measurements are approximately 25” by 22”. Comes with a mat border. No COA ever came with this piece. But I have no doubt as to its Authenticity.
The bout itself was probably one of the most notable and billed up fights in boxing history. At the time in 1938 it was billed as America against Germany. Never did a fight have so much riding on its outcome back then. Americas soon to be hero Joe Louis would end up getting a 1st round KO stoppage decision over Schmeling.
…..So if you’re an avid boxing fan or boxing historian, this piece would be the centerpiece for your collection. So here’s your chance to bring home a piece of American Sports History. And one that would make for the ultimate addition to any sports den or Man Cave in your home.….
