condition: excellent
Offered up is a signed paper slip/index card of Joe Louis (The Brown Bomber), it is framed with an issue of Sports Illustrated with Louis on the cover. The autograph is on a two tone slip of paper, somewhat light but still clearly legible. Glass on lower left of frame does have some fragmenting.

Louis is considered one of the Greatest Heavyweights of all Time. And is the only such Heavyweight to be victorious in twenty five title defenses.
He reigned as the world heavyweight champion from 1937 until his temporary retirement in 1949.
Louis's cultural impact was felt well outside the ring. He is widely regarded as the first African-American to achieve the status of a nationwide hero within the U.S. because of his historic rematch and victory against German boxer Max Schmeling.

….The piece would make for a nice addition for any old school Boxing aficionado. It does not come with any COA. However, the majority of my autographs were obtained years prior in the late 1980’s thru the 1990’s from established UACC and Manuscript Society members and dealers….
