Great book! In depth descriptions of the battles, strategies, and statistics.
For instance I was unaware there were no fatalities in the first battle at Fort Sumter. Sadly that can't be said of the rest. Gettysburg I believe had 50,000 dead, wounded, or missing. Buy the book and you can educate yourself on all the battles.
$4 is the best price I found on this search ( https://www.isbns.co.tt/isbn/9780831739812/ ) so I'll start there. I have other great books buy more and save :)
This also would be a great coffee table book as it has pictures of the Generals and more.
Google says " This book offers a look backward, and "look" is the salient feature. Here, in the old portraits, the battlefield photographs, the illustrations from the newspapers of the day, is the real "look" of America at war. Culled from public and private archives, supplemented with some of the finest battle maps ever produced for the Civil War, these pictures and the texts they illustrate offer a vivid overview."
This book is from Civil War Times Illustrated who has been the leading magazine in the nation covering the war between the states for over 25 years.
Google has no reviews but I am enjoying it very much but I may be moving and books won't be making the trip
