I have $2. Red Button Ginger usually come out in root clumps with multiple 7ft ginger plants attached. That counts as 1
I do have a lot of shoots coming up now in various sizes

Spiral Ginger/ Red Button Ginger is hardy, and if cut down will grow again and again.
Red Button ginger grows in all conditions here, but I have noticed in the winter they stay green if they are under a tree shade.
If you are not watering regularly, during the fall/winter the leaves at the bottom will dry out. And if you don't water at all and they are not in shade, the stalk will dry out but come back starting in the spring. They are very hardy and spread slowly.
