Per the books' note........"This book was published in conjunction with the exhibit "Henri Matisse: A Retrospective" at the Museum of Modern Art, New York, September 24, 1992-January 12, 1993, organized by John Elderfield, Director, Department of Drawings, Curator, Department of Painting and Sculpture, with the assistance of Beatrice Kernan, Associate Curator, Department of Drawings."
The cover, back cover, and 480+ pages of this softcover book are in like-new condition. The pages show no rips, tears, yellowing, or writing on them.
There is however at the top and bottom of the spine 2 little bruises that look like the book was dropped and landed on these areas. Pictures 4 and 5 show these areas.
The book is 12.0 inches tall, 9.5 inches wide, and 1.5 inches thick.
The book contains a ton of Matisse history, trivia, black-and-white pictures, color pictures, drawings, and much much more.
This book is a MUST HAVE for all Matisse historians and aficionados.
If you only buy one book about the Henri Matisse, this is it.
Also included with the book are actual pages from an article published in the September 1992 issue of Travel and Leisure magazine reviewing and describing the Matisse exhibit presented at MOMA.
