Every Monday night at 7:00 PM a group of people gather to serve the poor and homeless in our city. We make 150 bag lunches and also serve coffee and ice water. Volunteers are always needed to prepare the food and to serve it once made as well as to build relationships with our brothers and sisters who have fallen on hard times. Musicians are also needed to play classic rock or other familiar songs to help make burdens lighter! If you are interested in contributing in any way, you are most welcome to join with us.

We meet at 7PM every Monday evening @ 2750 5th Ave N in St. Pete which is Albright United Methodist Church's kitchen (though we are not Methodists and we are open to people of all faiths who simply want to love). They allow us to use the space to make the meals. Email for more information, or just show up!

I'm a 29 year old single and pregnant mother of two that was recently homeless as well as heartbroken! The man I was with for ten years who was also the father of my children physically abused me during a 6 and a half hour order that actually made the news and 3 bay area news papers. (tbo.com) Due to that situation, I for my safety and the safety of my children, had to confidentially relocate, mend our hearts, and learn how to live without the negativity and how to be a single mother.

Due to the nature and severity of the abuse, I am unable to return to the place my children and I called home, leaving behind EVERYTHING I worked my entire life for, including jewelry, savings bonds, and sentimental items I inherited from my recently deceased mother. I recently learned that all of our belongings have been destroyed and discarded. Furniture, my children's clothes, shoes, toys, activities, CDs, books. All of my belongings as well. Clothes, shoes, personal items, jewelry, pictures etc.

Because my ex was the breadwinner, and wanted me to be home with our children, I have not worked in a little over a year. My resume is all over the internet! Monster, Career Builder, Hot Jobs etc however, I have received NO offers in the recent weeks.

With both of my children's birthdays approaching as well as Christmas, I need all the help I can get. Its hard enough to maintain a roof over our head, and having to hide my vehicle from repossession due to lack of money I cant imagine how horrible Its going to be for me to not be able to provide for my children on their birthdays and Christmas. They've already been uprooted from the only home and life they've known, they've been thrown into new schools..basically I'm saying they've been through enough. The sadness of wanting to make all of this go away has had a HUGE affect on my pregnancy, my sleeping and eating habits. I feel like a complete failure, however, I'm the victim here and the scumbag abuser is a free man awaiting a trial that the State Attorney in Pasco county says can take up to a year to get started.

I am reaching out for ANY help that anyone can offer. To stay busy during my job search I am giving to my community by volunteering at a food bank where I put a smile on my face to help others in similar situations but I'm literally dying inside little by little. So I am by no means sitting around begging for handouts from ANYONE.

Monetary donations are preferable, and I do have a PO Box. I can also provide a link to the news article backing up my story to SERIOUS volunteers only. The reason I have not posted the link here is because I do not want my ex, or his friends/family to be able to track me down since we are in hiding awaiting his prosecution.

I truly hope that since the abuse didn't kill me, that it will make me stronger. I hope to be able to overcome this obstacle very soon, and hope you can help it happen even sooner!

Some of these organizations promoting specific racial advancement or funds for justice, fuel the fires of bigotry and hate. Read some of the volunteering ads and you'll find a lot of them (refering to uhuru's). If your helping with funding, it makes you no better the the KKK. Lets make the community a better place for EVERYONE. There's lots you can do with groups that want to do good for the entire community without regard to racial bias.

I'm a psychology graduate student doing a short internet survey (under the supervision of Dr. C.N. DeWall Ph.D.) that lasts about 25 minutes and I would appreciate if you could help me by filling it out. Committee: Everyone is doing a great job. Thank you for all of your hard work. Last week we recruited a Mission Education Chair, Lisa Pach! She is excited to meet everyone at our next meeting. We do still have a few open positions, Team Recruitment, Activities and Entertainment, Luminaria (Pending), and Marketing (temporarily held by David-co event chair).
Events: Our Team Development Committee has scheduled the Kick off Rally on Thursday, November 19th at Hillsborough High School. Start thinking of potential team captains to invite to this event. Invitations will be given at our next Committee meeting.
Teams: We have our first team registered and only 24 more to go! Lets push to recruit more teams and turning committed teams to paid teams. On Thursday, we are having a dinner for anyone interested in being a Team Recruiter. It will be held at Ella's, if you know of anyone who would be good at this position, please contact me.
Fundraising: Our goal is to raise $35,000

Every Halloween we collect (left over) individually wrapped candy that responsible parents don't want their kids to consume. We scatter this candy in the goody boxes; much tastier than packing peanuts and environmnetally friendlier. *have pain that is inadequately controlled by standard therapies

Volunteers Divers are needed at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium.

Maintaining water quality and appearance of our dolphin pools is a top priority. The recent roof removal provides a spectacular open-air effect but also brings with it direct sunlight that increases algae growth in our dolphin pools. Therefore, we need to enlist additional committed volunteer SCUBA divers to assist with our pool cleaning challenge. Our dolphins are routinely moved to back pools during cleaning. We are also in need of Safety Spotters to assist the divers and monitor dolphin behavior. Spotters do not require SCUBA certification but First Aid certification is required.

Air tanks are provided and some equipment is available. Most volunteers bring their own dive gear.

If you are an active, certified diver interested in joining the team contact Dawn De Santis , Volunteer Coordinator at volunteerdepartment@cmaquarium.org for the necessary forms

Any person interested in applying must provide and make copy of a Scuba Certification Card from a recognized agency as Naui, Padi, Pdic, or Ssi. They must have dived within the last year and provide their dive log for review(2 dives). If they have not dived within 1 year they must show proof of a current refresher course from a recognized agency. If you currently hold a valid Cpr/1st Aid Card please supply a copy of that as well. Interviews will be held with any new divers that wish to apply after they have submitted the required documentation . Volunteer divers must be willing to come in at least once a month.

Volunteers needed for knee osteoarthritis exercise study

Help Barry University study exercises for osteoarthritis symptoms by taking part in a home-based study.

� To enter the study, you must be at least 50 years old, regularly have pain in at least one knee and not have been exercising regularly over the past six months.
� Your doctor must confirm you have knee osteoarthritis.
� Study volunteers will also need to meet a certain level of physical limitation on our survey and not have rheumatoid arthritis.
� The eight-week study consists of three sessions a week of home-based exercise. Some people will be assigned a non-exercise treatment, but can join the exercise program afterward.
� All tests, therapies and five training sessions are free.
� Study volunteers are not compensated for their time or mileage.

We are in the process of opening a community kitchen to help feed those who are going through financial difficulties due to this country's current situation.
This will be located in the New Port Richey, Fl area. We will be looking for those who would like to help in a Christian based environment. At this time we are looking for people who have commercial kitchen equipment as well as dinning room fixtures that would be willing to donate them for a good cause. The building is a former restaurant that had everything removed. We will be operating as a non-profit 501c3, financial donations are also needed to get this up and to continue running. As a volunteer with our local track club for disadvantaged children, I'm seeking owners of classic cars to support our cause at our classic car show. The show is limiited to classic cars. "No new model cars please". All interested classic car owners should call Faye at 727-520-4178 with your mailing address and a registration package will be mailed. The pre-registration fee is $15. The fee will be $20 the day of the show. Cars will be judged and trophies will be awarded. Please support these children. What is a clinical trial?

Clinical trials are a necessary step in the process of making new medications generally available. Clinical research trials are conducted by doctors to test the safety and effectiveness of new medications. All clinical research is highly regulated by the federal government and independent committees in order to ensure patient safety. Why are clinical trials important? All new medications must go through the clinical trial process. We now have effective treatments and cures for hundreds of diseases due to clinical research and the patients who have participated in clinical trials. Should I participate in a clinical trial? As a volunteer in a clinical trial, you help in the development of new medical therapies that may offer better treatments and even cures for life threatening and chronic diseases.

When you participate in a clinical trial, you receive study related, quality medical care from local physicians and medical professionals. For most studies, you are also paid for your time and travel. It is also important to know that your personal information remains confidential. The trial data provided to the pharmaceutical company and US Food & Drug Administration (FDA) does not even include your name.

What can I expect?

Prior to beginning the study, you will receive an informed consent document, which includes information about the purpose of the study, potential benefits and risks, and if appropriate, what you will be paid for participation. If you choose to consent, physicians and healthcare professionals will then determine if you meet all defined criteria for participation. During the study, physicians and healthcare professionals are committed to providing you with quality patient care and medical attention. You should feel free to discuss your medical treatment with our research staff members at any time.

As a participant, you may be asked to:

O Regularly visit a healthcare provider
O Have laboratory and diagnostic tests
O Take medication

What are the benefits?

While each study is different, benefits of participation may include some or all of the following:

O Access to medication, medical care from specialists who know your condition, and laboratory services at no cost
O The opportunity to receive a medical treatment that is not widely available
O Knowledge that you are helping advance medical science

Potential risks include:

O As with all prescription and over-the-counter medications, side effects may occur
O In some studies you may receive a placebo, which contains no medication
O There are no guarantees that you will benefit from the treatment

It is important to know that as a volunteer, you have the right to leave the study at any time, and for any reason.

The Nippers have had a very tragic loss. My bestfriend Amanda commited suicide October 19, 2009.
Their family does not have enough money to pay for a service that she deserves.
She was 14 years old when she took her life. Mainly, Im here asking for help.
