Ok so here is the deal I am a guitarist and singer looking to put together a trio that plays rock, punk, hard rock cover tunes.
Something along the lines of Foo Fighters, Green Day, Social Distortion, Skid Row et al.
Rude, loud, snotty, high energy rock and roll.
I'm also looking to take songs that aren't necessarily from the above genres and put a rock/punk twist on them.
But here is the catch it has to be danceable too. Otherwise we'll end up playing a club once and not be invited back.
If you have heard of Me First and the Gimme Gimmes than you have an idea what I am looking to do. If not check them out.
I want to keep it a trio to try and make some $$$. Otherwise it is just not worth it.
Would like to be up and running asap. Not have endless practices trying to get the songs absolutely perfect. Screw that.
So I am looking for a bassist and drummer. Age range not super important as long as your old enough to drink and don't act like a punk.
I'm not in this to get my baby-sitting certificate.
This is open to both male and female players. Bare in mind though I am NOT looking for people just learning their instrument.
Looking for two people who know how to do there homework (at home not at rehearsal), can sing either back-up or lead. Can be
team players, who are open minded about songs. None of this "I don't like that band (or genre) so I refuse to play that song"
Who don't drink excessively, and basically don't have vices or drama that are going to interfere with what the band is trying
to accomplish. Must have own transportation. And gear.
Ideally the people I am looking for will have played the Tampa Bay area extensively and have connections, and won't be
afraid to do some pavement pounding to get bookings or at least make some calls.
Plus if you have a place to practice and P.A. that would be swell.
Not asking for too much am I??
Ok here is my red flag. I have limited experience with singing lead and fronting a band. I have sung lead but usually
only a couple of songs a night. I have tons of experience playing and singing back-up (25+ years) but I am ready to take the
next step and do a lot more singing. This is not saying that I want to handle all the lead vocals or that I want to run the band.
Not at all, as a matter of fact if songs were split equally in thirds amongst everyone I would be thrilled. But if the other members
only wanted to sing a couple of songs here and there I would be ok with that too. Backing vocals are a must though so if you are
not comfortable or are unable to at least step up and sing some back up you might want to look elsewhere.
I want to have fun, play music, and make some extra cash. Hit me up if this sounds like something you are interested in.
