DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a talented, self-motivated SQL Server Database Developer with 5+ years of solid, proven experience working with SQL Server 2000/2008 and Visual Studio 2008. A strong knowledge of database concepts, T-SQL, stored procedures and DTS is required. Prior experience in Database Development position is required. Candidates will be asked to provide a sample of data normalization methodologies and design issues encountered in past projects.
Core Responsibilities:
Loading data, optimizing complex SQL queries, designing tables, and creating indexes
Writing/debugging/testing complex DTS packages including ActiveX tasks and transformations.
Use Visual Studio 2008 to develop, support and maintain database and web applications.
Maintain multiple production, development and QA SQL Server environments
Technical Skills Required:
Must have 5+ years SQL Server experience (SQL 2000/2008)
Use of ETL tools such as DTS and SSIS and writing data load scripts is required.
Mid-range C# and ASP.Net (versions 1.1 to 3.5+) programming experience
Light SQL Server administration knowledge
Light XML, HTML, CSS knowledge
Additional Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in CIS/MIS, CS, or related field.
Must be able to learn new technologies quickly.
Experience with SQL Server version upgrades preferred, especially 2000 to 2008
Knowledge of classic ASP and e-commerce is a plus.
Experience using version control system, i.e. Visual Source Safe (VSS).
Very good people skills, plus written and oral communication skills
Must be a creative problem solver, flexible, and proactive
Ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision.
