Progressive and dynamic medical practice seeks a Payroll/HR Clerk who will be responsible for performing a variety of payroll and human resource functions, such as processing payroll, maintaining employment and payroll records, preparing a variety of payroll, tax and accounting reports, assisting in benefit enrollment, and processing new and terminating employees.
Job Responsibilities:
• Compile payroll data and record it in the payroll system
• Calculate adjustments to wages, taxes, withholdings as needed
• Review wages computed and reconciles errors to ensure accuracy of payroll
• Record changes affecting net wages, such as unpaid leave, benefit deductions, 401k contributions, changes in withholdings, wage rate changes
• Review, calculate and process garnishments or other involuntary deductions
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal wage and hour laws
• Generate 401K deduction reports and send deductions electronically to 401K Administrator
• Generates tax files for processing by tax filing system and review them for accuracy
• Balance payroll and tax records at Quarter end and Year end to ensure accurate and timely preparation of W-2 records and Tax filings
• Create entries and balances payroll information to accounting records
• Generates routine payroll reports and special reports for management
• Create, maintains and provides reports for ancillary compensation records, such as PTO balances, 401k records and FSA records
• Assist in Finance Month end entries and accruals related to payroll information
• Document and updates payroll procedures
The ideal candidate will posses,
• A minimum of two (2) years of payroll processing experience.
• Quickbooks knowledge preferred, but not required.
• Skilled with PCs, accounting or payroll software, and Microsoft Office software including word processing, spreadsheet, and Outlook. Experienced with general office equipment.
• The ability to communicate clearly, timely, and accurately.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team oriented environment.
• An ability to work independently in a time sensitive environment with acute attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality, which is mandatory.
