This is a full-time (direct hire) position. Local (Tampa) area candidates will only be considered.
We are in need of a DBA who is strong in both SQL Server and MySQL database management systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in writing stored procedures, creating backup and recovering processes, monitoring performance in a scalable production environment, and understanding software development practices.. A qualified candidate needs to thrive in a fast-paced, team environment and quickly solve complex problems with minimal supervision. The candidate will join a dynamic team of engineers, quality assurance analysts, product managers, etc. , and should be comfortable contributing new ideas in a group setting.
Duties & Responsibilities:
· Assist software development team with the creation of stored procedures across multiple product lines
· Design backup, recovery, replication, storage and archiving processes and procedures
· Apply database updates to QA, staging and production environments for new releases or patches
· Perform builds of new software applications to testing and production environments
· Write database documentation, including data standards, procedures and definitions for the data dictionary ('metadata')
· Control access permissions and privileges to all databases in all environments
· Create and maintain data import packages, procedures and scripts
· Ensure the database integrity and security
Required Qualifications:
· Expert level expertise with SQL
· Strong experience administering SQL Server Databases
· Strong experience with Windows Server administration
· Strong experience writing and optimizing stored procedures
· Basic working knowledge of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and/or DTS
· Basic experience with administering MySQL Databases
· Basic experience with Linux and Apache administration
· Basic experience in creating backup and recovery systems
· Basic experience with highly scalable, high traffic web applications
· Basic experience with creating and editing automated scripts to deploy software builds from Source Control Management system
. MUST be a U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder
Skills & Qualifications desired:
A working knowledge of .NET or Java programming languages. Experience with cloud computing or virtual environment platforms. A working understanding of software architecture, OO principles and common design patterns. Working knowledge or experience with an Agile software development framework like Scrum. Strong working knowledge of TCP/IP networking and Web protocols.
